This is not a defect of the portafilter itself, but instead, is your coffee telling you that there's room for improvement in your preparation process (grind size, tamping, distribution, etc.) We would like to suggest you to try below steps: 1. Try grinding a bit finer 2. Ensuring to use the right amount of coffee. 3. Utilize a distributor to make a well-leveled puck for even pressing 4. Using enough and even pressure during tamping. Attention 2: Doesn't fit and leaks? We would like to suggest you to try to push it further to the right to seal it than the stock portafilter. The original being about 6oclock as the locking point, the bottomless had to be turned to around 4/5oclock position.
